The builder passed the final rough inspections last week, which means that the plumbing, electrical & venting are now able to be closed up in the walls. So...insulation of the exterior walls has begun and will continue this week. No, it isn't the pink stuff. We are going 'green'.
(Not really, we still drive big cars and waste water.)
The insulation is good stuff though - it is Cellulose Insulation, which is mostly recycled. The Cellulose is super sound proof and very airflow resistant. Look it up, and pretend you know someone who is building a sustainable and energy efficient home.
Actually, maybe we are going kind-of 'green'. This home will be much more efficient than it was, and we are using a lot of recycled materials throughout and new technology. Maybe we aren't so bad after all. Hey, we didn't even build a garage...in preparation for a future with no cars, just the high speed rails that are going to solve everything.
Next week, some boards will start to go up on the walls, hopefully.
